چکیده

The aim of this research was to investigate the physico-mechanical, thermal, and morphological properties cement-bonded wood particleboards produced by using fly as has a partial cement replacement spruce planer shavings. Experimental single-layer target density 1200 kg/m3, 1/3 wood-cement ratio, dimension 460x460x10 mm3 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% ash were tested for physical mechanical in accordance with EN ASTM standards. Moreover, thermal analysed scanning electron microscope thermogravimetric analysis-derivative thermogravimetry. Test results indicated that enhanced both bending strength water-resistance particleboards. Internal bond screw withdrawal strengths tended decrease content increased particleboards, but not statistically significant. As increased, weight loss decreased analysis because pozzolonic reaction calcium hydroxide. In microscope, it observed silicate hydrate gel whereas hydroxide usageratio

Corrosion Resistance Performance of Fly Ash Blended Cement Concretes

Durability of reinforced concrete with respect to corrosion of reinforcement is one of the major aspects to be considered in the management of civil infrastructure systems. An accelerated laboratory test method developed at SERC where the concrete specimen containing rebar is subjected to polarization under a constant voltage in a sodium chloride solution. It is found that the current response ...

Geotechnical Characterization Cement - Fly Ash –fibers Mix

The fly ash is a waste produced mostly from the burning of coal in thermal power station which contributes to environmental pollution. It is naturally-cementitious coal combustion by-product. Many studies have been reported in the literature on the performance evaluation of soil – fly ash system as well soil-fly ashfiber system. Although ample studies have been reported with randomly distribute...

Adsorption of tungsten onto zeolite fly ash produced by hydrothermally treating fly ash in alkaline solution.

Fly ash (FA) was hydrothermally treated in an alkaline solution to produce zeolite fly ash (Z-FA). The properties of the FA and Z-FA were investigated. The amounts of tungsten (W) adsorbed onto the FA and Z-FA surfaces were evaluated. Z-FA was produced by hydrothermally treating FA in an alkaline solution. The specific surface area and pore volume of the Z-FA were greater than those of the FA. ...

Effect of Fly Ash Fineness on the Performance of Cement Mortar

This paper investigates the effect of fineness of fly ash on the performance of cement mortar. Fly ash from thermal plant is used as partial substitute for cement. Fly ash is used as received and also processed by grinding. The study involves four replacement levels of fly ash into cement at 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% for each mix design. Mortar cubes are tested for strength, water absorption and so...

Performance evaluation of cement stabilized fly ash-GBFS mixes as a highway construction material.

Fly ash and granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) are major by-products of thermal and steel plants, respectively. These materials often cause disposal problems and environmental pollution. Detailed laboratory investigations were carried out on cement stabilized fly ash-(GBFS) mixes in order to find out its suitability for road embankments, and for base and sub-base courses of highway pavements....
